Ashton Whitty and Asia Argento
Ashton Blaise Whitty (born October 1, 1995, on the streets of Berkeley California) is an actress. She is an actor well-known for her roles in Choices (2010, The Heart and Other Small Shapes, 2006) as well as Chrissie Mair's Content House 2022.
Asia Argento was raised in Rome with a acting and film-making family. The two professions she chose to pursue were herself. When she made her debut, she was just nine years old aged in Sergio Citti's film Sogni e Bisogni in 1988. she starred as the main character in Cristina Comencini's first film, Zoo, and was part of the cast of The Church directed by Michele Soavi. Red Wood Pigeon, the film she appeared in as Nanni Moretti's little daughter was released a year later. However, it came from Close Friends by Michele Placido which saw Asia's acting career begin to take off. It was well received at the Cannes International Film Festival. The film was made with her father for the debut time on Trauma which was directed by the acclaimed Italian horror filmmaker Dario Argento. The mother of her, Daria Nicoleli, is Argento's favorite actress as she portrayed an orexic trying to track down the murderer of her parents. Asia's absorbed and intense acting style was used to great effect in Giuseppe Piccioni's Condannato nozze. In 1993, she starred alongside Carlo Verdone's Perdiamoci di vista in which she performed the role of Arianna who was a disabled girl. This was an intricate and difficult part that earned her the David di Donatello award for the best actress She also had prominent roles in the cast international for Queen Margot directed by Patrice Chereau. In 1995 she worked together with Michel Piccoli to produce Peter Del Monte Compagna di viaggio, for which she won the David di Donatello. Asia began directing in 1994 and released two short films and an episode from the movie De Generazione. In 1996, she produced a documentary about her father. She also produced AbelAsia is a feature film about the famous director Abel Ferrara. In 1998, Asia directed AbelAsia, that was honoured at the Rome Film Festival. Asia produced her debut feature film Scarlet Diva (1999), where she was both the actress leading the film and the author of its screenplay. The film was released in May 2000 across Italy as well as the rest of the world. The Williamsburg Festival for Films in Brooklyn, New York awarded the film with a prize.
